A fire broke out in the Sarıgerme neighborhood of Ortaca, Muğla, early in the morning. The flames quickly spread to the forested area due to the wind.

The fire started around 07:30 and was reported by local residents, prompting a rapid response from numerous fire and AFAD teams. They are currently battling the fire from both air and ground.

Efforts to control the fire are ongoing, with approximately 2 hectares of land reported damaged. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Authorities emphasize the need for caution against forest fires, especially during the summer months when temperatures and drought increase the risk.

After the cooling efforts are completed, damage assessment will begin, and work will start to reforest the affected areas.
