Forest fires are ongoing in Greece. The heat waves from the Aegean Sea are increasing the risk of fires.

Fires around Athens, especially in Pissonas, Evia, and Messinia, are currently being battled by firefighting teams using both air and ground resources.

With temperatures reaching critical levels, Greek authorities have warned that 11 regions are at high risk. Four planes and two helicopters have been dispatched for firefighting efforts.

Volunteers are also participating in the firefighting efforts. Firefighting teams are working hard to prevent the spread of the flames.

The spread of the fires threatens both residential areas and agricultural lands. Citizens in Greece are advised to remain vigilant due to the high fire risk.
