Defendants Deny Charges in İzmir Corruption Case

The corruption case in İzmir continues. Defendants denied the charges against them.
In the İzmir 23rd Heavy Criminal Court, defendants Tunç Soyer and Şenol Aslanoğlu attended the hearing. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was also present among the observers.
During the hearing, the identification of the defendants was made, and the indictment was read. Sentences of 3 to 45 years in prison are sought for 65 defendants.
The İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office identified 449 victims and 7 complainants in the corruption investigation. The outcomes of this case are critical for the future of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
