Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that volunteers fighting forest fires will be recognized as martyrs. This decision was published in the Official Gazette and has come into effect.

With the new regulations, volunteers fighting forest fires will be able to benefit from compensation and monthly rights. Additionally, salaries will be granted to the families of volunteers who lost their lives.

This year, volunteers who lost their lives in the fight against forest fires will officially be recognized as martyrs. This will secure the rights of volunteers and their families.

The definition of forest volunteers has also been changed. They will now be defined as volunteers fighting forest fires, and this definition will be included in the regulations.
