Drought Issue: Water Level at Oruçlu Pond Drops

Drought is affecting many regions in Turkey. The Oruçlu Pond in Babaeski district of Kırklareli is one of the places most affected by this situation.
Since June, rising temperatures have caused the water level in the pond to drop. This situation has led to fish in the pond fighting for survival.
Cracks have formed in areas where the water has receded. This situation also negatively affects the water needs of grazing animals.

Drought is not only affecting Oruçlu Pond but many places across Turkey. The water level in the Türkmenli Pond in Tekirdağ has dropped below 5%. This situation threatens agricultural and livestock activities.
Local authorities are taking various measures to address this situation. However, citizens also need to use water conservatively.
