Water Levels Drop, Fish Die: Ecosystem at Risk

Recently, fish deaths due to flooding and drought have been increasing in various regions of Turkey. This situation poses serious effects on the ecosystem.
In particular, in the Mazıdağı district of Mardin, thousands of fish died as the water level in the pond dropped. Residents reported the bad odors to the authorities. Such incidents are concerning in terms of environmental pollution and ecosystem imbalance.

In Babaeski, the water level in the pond has dropped due to extreme heat, and fish are struggling to survive. This situation allows birds to easily catch the fish.
Various efforts are being made to rescue fish from drying ponds. The Bolu Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has mobilized to relocate surviving fish to their new habitats.

In Rize, fish deaths are also occurring in streams. The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has sent teams to investigate this situation. Urgent measures need to be taken to prevent such incidents.
