Drought Alarm! Water Cuts Begin in Sakarya

Drought alarm in Sakarya! Water cuts have begun in two districts.

Drought alarm! Drinking water sources in Sakarya are rapidly depleting.

According to meteorological data, the drinking water sources in Sakarya have reached critical levels. The water level in Sapanca Lake is just a few centimeters away from the minimum threshold of 29.90 meters. This situation necessitated various measures for more efficient water use.

Planned water cuts have begun in the districts of Karasu and Hendek. SASKİ stated that a large portion of the water in these districts is used for agricultural irrigation, which has caused a drop in pressure for domestic use.

SASKİ indicated that during the periods of water cuts, the water levels in the reservoirs will be balanced, and they requested citizens to use water conservatively.

In Hendek, attention was drawn to the misuse of the drinking water network. SASKİ requested citizens to report any misuse to the ALO 185 hotline.

Drought and careless water consumption threaten the future of Sapanca Lake. Authorities are continuing their efforts to raise awareness about water conservation among citizens.
