Earthquake in Istanbul! Latest Updates from AFAD

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Istanbul!
AFAD announced that a segment of the North Anatolian Fault has ruptured, resulting in 184 aftershocks so far. The epicenter of the earthquake was determined to be Silivri.

The earthquake occurred at 12:49 in the Sea of Marmara at a depth of approximately 7 km. After the main shock, aftershocks of 4.4, 4.9, and 4.5 magnitudes were recorded.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that no adverse situations were reported following the assessments. Citizens were warned not to enter damaged buildings.
