Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made significant statements following the earthquakes.

In his social media post, İmamoğlu stated, "We must keep Istanbul away from treacherous projects like Kanal Istanbul and quickly prepare for the Istanbul Earthquake and its consequences for our state and nation."

While expressing his feelings about the recent earthquakes, İmamoğlu said, "My greatest sadness is not being able to be with you on this difficult day as a manager and urban planner who dedicates his life to disaster-oriented planning in Istanbul."

Emphasizing the urgent need for solidarity and common sense for Istanbul's future, İmamoğlu stated, "The issue of earthquakes is much bigger than winning elections."

İmamoğlu noted that all İBB teams are on alert and are working in coordination with state institutions to prepare for possible disasters.
