Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş announced that the 6.2 magnitude earthquake in Istanbul was also felt in Ankara.

Yavaş expressed his condolences on social media, stating, "I send my best wishes to all those affected by the earthquake, especially our citizens in Istanbul."

According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, the earthquake's epicenter was determined to be off the coast of Silivri, Istanbul, in the Sea of Marmara. The tremor was felt in Ankara, prompting some residents to evacuate buildings.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) also informed the public that teams had begun field surveys after the earthquake. So far, no serious incidents or injuries have been reported.

President Erdoğan expressed that they are closely monitoring the developments and extended his best wishes to the citizens. Transportation Minister Uraloğlu stated that no damage was found on highways.
