Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made an urgent call for solidarity following the recent earthquakes. He stated, "The issue of earthquakes is much bigger than winning elections,".

Imamoğlu noted that İBB teams are on alert and working in coordination with all state institutions. He emphasized that this is a matter of survival.

He highlighted the need for urban transformation and infrastructure strengthening for Istanbul's disaster preparedness. "We need common sense urgently," he stated.

Additionally, he warned against projects like Kanal Istanbul that threaten Istanbul and called for their abandonment.
