While the minimum wage for 2025 is set at 22,104 TL, bread prices have increased by 153%. This situation severely impacts the purchasing power of low-income citizens.

Economist İnan Mutlu illustrated the rise in bread prices and the decline in the purchasing power of minimum wage earners with graphs. In the index where July 2023 is considered 100, bread prices rose to 252.92 points, while the minimum wage index remained at 193.86 points.
