Digital Copyright Law and Media Regulations Coming Soon

The Digital Copyright Law aims to ensure that social media platforms pay content creators. Nazım Elmas, Chairman of the Digital Media Commission, explained this to Milliyet.
Elmas stated that the digital copyright law will require platforms like Google and Meta to pay Turkish content creators as well. This law aims to protect the rights of digital content producers.
The digital copyright law will be structured around three main areas: content tracking, evaluation, and payment. Elmas mentioned that this system will operate with the support of artificial intelligence.
Elmas also noted that there will be discussions about imposing restrictions on social media use for those under 16 and raising awareness among families.
With the digital copyright law, the rights of content creators will be protected, ensuring they receive compensation for their work. This regulation also aims to enhance the quality of journalism.
