AKP municipalities' bath projects are being criticized by the opposition. Şanlıurfa's Siverek Municipality is spending 14 million lira to build a new bath. This situation shows that austerity measures are not being applied.

While municipal administrations argue that these baths are a public need, many believe these expenditures are unnecessary. Operating baths is not the primary duty of municipalities.

Moreover, it is emphasized that these facilities increase water consumption and pose problems in the fight against the climate crisis. It is known that AKP municipalities have previously undertaken similar projects.

It is reported that Samsun Metropolitan Municipality spent 20 million lira on a bath built in 2022, and other municipalities have made similar expenditures. This situation increases discussions about how public resources are used.
