Elif Atayman Files Application to the Constitutional Court

Elif Atayman has applied to the Constitutional Court regarding the corruption investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB). This application addresses the rights violations she experienced during her detention.
In her application, Atayman stated that her fundamental rights, such as the "right to personal freedom and security" and "presumption of innocence," were violated. She was detained on March 19 and sent to prison.
Atayman claimed that her security and health rights were violated after being transferred to Afyonkarahisar Prison. Her family is demanding that she be tried without detention.
The rights violations and difficulties Atayman faced during her detention have resonated widely in the public. She made a call to Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç.
Atayman criticized the conditions in prison and the treatment she received, stating, "This is not a trial, but a clear punishment."
