Parliamentary Elections in Syria Set for September!

Parliamentary elections in Syria are set for September! The interim government has announced the election law draft.
According to Muhammad Taha, the head of the Syrian Election Commission, the number of parliamentary seats will increase from 150 to 210, with one-third appointed by the president.
Quotas will be allocated for Kurds and Druze. In regions outside government control, parliamentary quotas will be created based on population.

The election commission will allow foreign observers to monitor the election process. This is an important step for enhancing the transparency of elections in Syria.
The representation ratio of Syria's 23 million population will be determined according to the 2011 census. This is critical for reflecting the ethnic and religious diversity in the country.
