Union Demands at IKCU and University Management's Response

At Izmir Katip Celebi University, the union is demanding a raise exceeding professor salaries for workers. This situation has led to tensions between the university management and the union.
The Öz Büro-İş Union has not reached an agreement in negotiations that began in December 2024. The university management proposed an increase of 11.54%, which is the civil servant salary increase rate.

The union demands 23% more than the professor's salary for support and security workers, and 31% more for technical staff. A strike decision was made due to the failure to meet these demands.
The university management continues its work while adhering to the principle of efficient and effective use of public resources. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure that there is no disruption in the university's operations.
