Today, life in Israel will come to a halt! Hostage families have initiated a general strike demanding the return of Israelis held in Gaza.

In Tel Aviv, the first demonstration has blocked the main road with banners. Protesters are chanting for the government to expedite the hostage exchange agreement.

According to Israeli media, the strike actions are organized to protest the government's decision to expand the war and take control of Gaza. Currently, there are 50 hostages in Gaza, with 20 believed to be alive.

Universities are also supporting the strike. Leading educational institutions like the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv University have announced their participation.

The Israeli security cabinet has approved a plan to expand the occupation in Gaza, escalating tensions in the region.
