Returns from Syria are accelerating! 1 million Syrians have returned home. The number of Syrians in Turkey is recorded as 2.5 million.

Since the outbreak of the civil war in 2011, the process of returning for Syrians has gained momentum. According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, 411,649 Syrians have voluntarily returned since December 8, 2024.

Since the fall of the Assad regime, returns have accelerated. A total of 1,151,652 Syrians have returned voluntarily since 2016.

Syrians wishing to return voluntarily can complete the necessary paperwork and return through designated border crossings. This process is also monitored by the United Nations.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that returns will accelerate and that the reconstruction process in Syria will support these returns. Turkey continues to provide assistance to refugees in Syria.
