CHP leader Özgür Özel made significant statements at the Hacı Bektaş Veli commemoration events, highlighting the unifying power of Hacı Bektaş Veli.

Özel emphasized, "When goodness and evil are weighed on the scale of interests, regardless of language, religion, or color, good people are good."

He stated, "These lands have seen many dark winters and painful periods. Nowadays, we see that the victims of the past are the oppressors of today."

Özel also mentioned the unresolved issues facing Alevis and stated the need to grant cemevis the status of places of worship.

Tuncer Bakırhan, Co-Chair of the DEM Party, also attended the event, emphasizing the goal of being free and equal citizens in Turkey's new century.
