CHP Municipalities and AKP's Bath Projects

Recently, while CHP municipalities face financial restrictions, AKP municipalities are accelerating their bath projects.
For instance, the Siverek Municipality in Şanlıurfa is spending 14 million 990 thousand lira to build a 514 square meter bath. This bath will feature colorful marbles, a pool, sauna, and steam room.
However, the question arises whether such projects align with the needs of the public. Is it the municipalities' primary duty to operate baths?
Previously, many AKP municipalities have undertaken similar projects. For example, the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality spent 20 million 940 thousand lira to build an Ottoman-style bath in 2022.
This situation raises significant discussions about how public resources are used in a time when water resources are becoming increasingly valuable due to the climate crisis.
In conclusion, while CHP municipalities implement austerity measures, the bath projects of AKP municipalities reflect the political and social dynamics in Turkey.
