Hatay is experiencing drought this year, threatening water resources.

According to meteorological data, Hatay is experiencing the driest period in 65 years. The water level in Karaçay Dam has decreased by 64% compared to last year, dropping to 18%. This situation seriously affects the region's drinking water needs.

Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Öntürk called for water conservation. Additionally, the water level in Yayladağı Dam has dropped to 20%. This situation deepens the water crisis in the region.

The effects of drought are not limited to Hatay. Similar problems are being experienced in different regions of Turkey. For example, the water level in Tahtalı Dam in Izmir has dropped to 10.79%. This situation also threatens agricultural production.
