University Students in Turkey and Their Future Concerns

There are about seven million university students in Turkey. These students know what awaits them after graduation and they are anxious.
Every year, our universities graduate about one million students. Together with the graduates of the last five years, a total of twelve million young people are questioning the meaning of a university diploma.
This situation creates an unhappy population of 60-70 million when considering their families. The inability of universities to fulfill their functions increases the anxieties of young people about the future.
The disregard of İmamoğlu's diploma by Istanbul University deepens these concerns. It is a situation that will further anger those worried about the value of their diplomas.
