Climate Change and Snowfall: What's Happening in Turkey?

How is climate change affecting weather conditions in Turkey?
According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, a cold weather system has started to affect Turkey. Temperatures are 3 to 6 degrees below seasonal norms. This situation highlights the effects of climate change.
Experts indicate that this cool weather will remain effective until the weekend and will continue until Monday. A strong rainfall warning has been issued, especially for the Western Black Sea region.
Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen stated that snow will fall on the mountains of Anatolia, and while no snow is expected in city centers, sleet may be seen in Erzurum and Erzincan.
Meteorology emphasized the need for citizens to be cautious against the risk of flooding and landslides in Zonguldak, Bartın, and the northern parts of Sinop. Such events may occur more frequently as a result of climate change.
With winter returning, snowfall is expected in many parts of Turkey. This situation reminds us of the necessity to combat climate change.
