The flood disaster in Rize has caused damage amounting to 1.2 billion lira.

Following the warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology, heavy rainfall from September 19-21 caused significant damage in Rize and surrounding areas. Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş stated that over 355 kilograms of rain fell in just 36 hours.

Many village roads were closed due to the flood, and several bungalows were swept away. However, the absence of casualties was the greatest relief.

Teams are working intensively to erase the traces of the flood. In Rize, 1500 personnel are on the ground with 567 equipment.

The tourism facilities in the region suffered significant damage. However, thanks to the measures taken by the government, the disaster was survived without loss of life.
