Climate Change and Global Warming: Alarming Predictions for Turkey

Climate change and global warming are increasingly affecting Turkey, just as they are around the world. According to a report from the World Meteorological Organization, temperatures are expected to remain at record levels over the next five years.
Between 2025 and 2029, the global average temperatures are expected to be 1.2 to 1.9 degrees higher compared to pre-industrial levels. This will increase climate risks in Turkey.
Experts warn that the increase in temperature will lead to more frequent dangerous weather events. Each additional degree can cause more intense heat waves, heavy rainfall, and droughts.
Ko Barrett, Deputy Secretary-General of WMO, stated, "We have already experienced the ten hottest years on record. There will be no relief in the coming years." This situation could impact nature, economies, and daily life.
It is emphasized that more effective measures must be taken to combat climate change. It is important for everyone to take responsibility in this regard.
