Thoughts on Retirement Salaries and Poverty Line

Current data on retirement salaries and the poverty line highlights the economic situation in Turkey once again.
Recent studies show that the hunger and poverty line in Turkey has exceeded the minimum wage by four times. This situation significantly affects the living standards of retirees.
According to the Confederation of Public Workers' Unions, the hunger line for a family of four reached 30,061 lira in October. This amount is 7,957 lira above the minimum wage.
Retirement salaries are falling below the poverty line. The lowest retirement salary of 16,881 lira is only enough for 17 days of food.
Considering that the poverty line is 92,238 lira, the challenges faced by retirees become even more evident. This situation poses a serious issue in terms of social justice.
In conclusion, increasing retirement salaries and considering the poverty line is vital for every segment of society.
