Marmaray has revolutionized Istanbul's transportation by carrying over 1.4 billion passengers in 12 years.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu highlighted the project's significance during its anniversary, stating that it forms the backbone of public transport in Istanbul. This line connects Asia and Europe in just 4 minutes, boasting a route of 76.6 kilometers and 43 stations.

Marmaray operates a total of 287 trips daily, increasing to 297 on weekends. Additionally, new projects are being implemented for freight transport.

Minister Uraloğlu announced that the tender for the Istanbul North Railway Crossing Project will be announced this year. This project will alleviate Marmaray's load and enhance Turkey's logistics capacity.

These transportation achievements play a crucial role in both local and international trade in Istanbul. Turkey's strategic position strengthens the trade corridor between Europe and Asia.
