Recently, an important development occurred in Istanbul. Ekrem İmamoğlu, Merdan Yanardağ, and Necati Özkan have been referred to the court with an arrest request on espionage charges.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that the digital materials of the detained Mayor İmamoğlu were being examined. It is claimed that these materials contained photos of military ammunition and weapons.

Yanardağ was detained as the General Manager of TELE1 and a trustee was appointed to the channel the same evening. During this process, it was alleged that he had connections with someone who supported İmamoğlu's election campaign.

İmamoğlu denied any connections with Hüseyin Gün and stated that these accusations were an insult to his life. He also expressed that the espionage charges were a conspiracy theory.
