After the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş, the court's decision was announced regarding the building collapse in Gaziantep.

Contractor Yunus Kaya was sentenced to 13 years and 9 months in prison for causing the deaths of 67 people. The court applied the provisions of conscious negligence and revoked his contractor's license for one year.

The court emphasized that the defendant failed to ensure building safety and acknowledged the potential risks but did not take precautions. This was a key reason for the increased sentence.

Uğur Kalkan stated that this sentence has reopened wounds of justice and expressed their intention to follow up on the process.
