The passport entry period to Syria has begun again! With the announcement from the Ministry of Interior, a new era has opened for Turkish citizens and Syrian citizens.

Due to the civil war in Syria, only Syrian refugees were allowed to return voluntarily through the border gates in Turkey. However, now Turkish citizens can also enter Syria.

In the Ministry of Interior's statement, it was noted that "the passport entry procedures have started at our border gates in accordance with the normalization process that began with the liberation of Syria."

Turkish citizens and Syrian citizens who have acquired citizenship from third countries can enter and exit through other border gates except for the Peace Spring Operation Zone.

The procedures for Syrians wishing to return are carried out at Voluntary Return Coordination Centers. These centers plan every stage of the return process in a dignified manner.

The voluntary returns of Syrians have gained momentum. Since December 8, 2024, 411,649 Syrians have returned voluntarily to their country. This has been made possible by the development of security and stability in Syria.
