Aksu Mayor İsa Yıldırım Resigns from CHP

In Antalya's Aksu district, CHP Mayor İsa Yıldırım announced his resignation from the party. Yıldırım was elected with a 55% vote in the 2024 local elections.
İsa Yıldırım cited disagreements with the CHP Aksu District Presidency as the reason for his resignation. He stated he will continue as an independent mayor.
Yıldırım emphasized that he was elected with the support of CHP's dedicated cadres and conservative citizens. However, he criticized the district chairman for focusing on personal interests.
İsa Yıldırım stated, "Our only agenda is to serve Aksu. No power can prevent us from serving Aksu."
Following Yıldırım's resignation, 5 city council members also left CHP. This situation could change the political dynamics in Aksu.
