President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated Tufan Erhürman, the winner of the presidential elections in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC). He wished the elections to be beneficial for the Turkish Cypriot people.

Erdoğan stated that Turkey will continue to defend the sovereignty rights of the KKTC. The peaceful and secure conduct of the elections is seen as a strong indicator of Turkish Cypriot democracy.

The results of the elections in the KKTC reflect the will of the Turkish Cypriot people. Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey will always stand by its Turkish Cypriot brothers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the elections were completed peacefully and demonstrated the democratic maturity of the KKTC. Tufan Erhürman’s victory could signify a new beginning for the Turkish Cypriots.
