Ümit Özdağ, the leader of the Victory Party, is facing prison time for allegedly insulting the President. The trial is scheduled for December 24.

After the hearing, Özdağ stated, "This is not a legal process, but a restructuring of politics through enemy penal law."

The prosecutor requested a sentence of up to 4 years and 8 months for Özdağ. He mentioned, "The prosecutor wants me punished, and I have requested time for a written defense."

Özdağ emphasized, "This is not democracy; criticizing the opposition is deemed forbidden." The trial has been postponed to December 24.
