Hurricane and Storm Disaster: Siirt Pistachio Yield Drops by 80%

Hurricane and storm disasters are causing significant losses in agriculture. The pistachio yield in Siirt has dropped by 80%!
Extreme heat has negatively impacted the yield of pistachio trees. Producers report a serious decline compared to last year. Pistachio producer Adnan Bingöl stated that there has been a significant loss in yield this year.
Drought has greatly affected farmers. Even in normal fields, significant losses are observed, while in rocky areas, this rate can reach up to 90%. Pistachio producers in Siirt state that no one has addressed this issue.
The President of the Siirt Pistachio Producers Union noted that despite this year being a 'good year', significant losses are being experienced, and approximately 1 million pistachio trees are at risk of drying out.
Extreme heat and drought are causing losses not only in pistachios but also in wheat. Farmers emphasize the importance of obtaining insurance against these conditions.
