CHP Chairman Özgür Özel evaluated the results of the presidential election in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC).

Özel congratulated Tufan Erhürman for winning with 62.80% of the votes. This election demonstrates the Turkish Cypriot people's assertion of their own will.

Özel emphasized the importance of the message given by the Turkish Cypriot people against external interventions. This election is not just about electing a leader but also about standing up for democracy.

Özgür Özel also valued Erhürman's constructive language regarding relations with the state. He expressed hope for a new day in KKTC.
