President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated Tufan Erhürman, who won the presidential elections in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

The TRNC Supreme Election Board announced that Tufan Erhürman received 62.76% of the votes, with a voter turnout of 64.87%.

In his statement, Erdoğan expressed, "I wish this election, which once again demonstrates the democratic maturity of the TRNC, to be beneficial for our countries and region."

Erdoğan also addressed Bahçeli's criticisms of the election results, stating that they will continue to defend the sovereignty rights of the TRNC.
