Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş made significant statements at the "Unity Ashura" program organized by Çankaya Municipality.

Yavaş announced the construction of two cemevis in Ankara, stating that the necessary permits have been obtained. He emphasized that these projects have been ongoing since 2019.

He expressed that they have been providing support without dividing people, and mentioned that they have brought back the tradition of cooking ashura, which had not been done for 25 years.

In a striking statement regarding the PKK, Yavaş emphasized the importance of not forgetting the May 14 elections and criticized the aftermath of the elections.

Yavaş also addressed the arrests of CHP mayors, stating that these injustices do not receive public support.

Finally, Yavaş declared that they will never allow Turkey to become another Lebanon and will uphold the values of the Republic.
