A fire disaster is occurring in Izmir! The flames in Urla and Aliağa continue to grow despite the teams' intense intervention.

The fire that started in Urla last night quickly spread to Aliağa. The Izmir Forest Regional Directorate dispatched 4 planes, 13 helicopters, and 34 fire trucks to intervene.

The fire rapidly grew due to the wind and reached the Çanakkale-Izmir State Highway. Teams are working hard to control the fire from both air and land.

Izmir Governor Süleyman Elban stated on social media that all teams are mobilized and efforts continue to control the fire.

Due to the fire, some houses in the area were evacuated as a precaution. Investigations regarding the cause of the fire are ongoing.
