Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu strongly reacted to the arrest of journalist Fatih Altaylı.

İmamoğlu stated that Altaylı's arrest is a manifestation of fear. He expressed that this situation shows the government's submission to fear.

In a social media statement, İmamoğlu said, ‘A government that is so submissive to fear cannot be entrusted with the Republic of Turkey.’

He also emphasized that there is an attempt to undermine the will of the people, which is unacceptable.

İmamoğlu stated, ‘This country has well-educated people, and millions of honest and hardworking youth,’ indicating that they will create competent teams.
