In Kütahya, former mayor Ekrem Taşkesdik was found dead at home. The incident was discovered by a relative who heard dog noises.

Emergency services were called, and they confirmed that Taşkesdik had passed away. It is suspected he suffered a heart attack.

Taşkesdik served as the mayor of Eskigediz from 1999 to 2009. His body was taken to the hospital morgue.
