Tensions rose during the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Assembly meeting!

The first session of the May meetings was held under the chairmanship of İBB Deputy Chairman Nuri Aslan. The meeting started with the presentation of flowers to female council members for Mother's Day. However, tensions arose following İmamoğlu's arrest.

Aslan addressed the judicial processes regarding İmamoğlu, questioning, 'If Ekrem İmamoğlu is so unsuccessful, why haven't the ministries intervened to remove him?'

Aslan rejected accusations against the İBB administration, emphasizing that tenders were conducted transparently. 'Every citizen can log into EKAP and see who the tender was awarded to and under what conditions.' he stated.

He declared, 'We will not take a step back,' indicating that discussions in the assembly would continue. He asserted that they would not shy away from serving the people of Istanbul.
