Climate change and global warming are affecting weather conditions in Turkey.

The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that temperatures will drop 3 to 6 degrees below seasonal norms. Heavy rainfall is expected in the coming days, especially in the Western Black Sea and northern Istanbul.

On Sunday, heavy rainfall is expected in Zonguldak and Bartın. Citizens should be cautious of floods and water accumulation.

In Istanbul, the rainfall has caused traffic jams. According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality traffic map, the traffic density was measured at 80%. This situation has also created congestion in public transport vehicles.

Meteorology experts emphasize the impacts of climate change. The risk of fires increases due to drought following heavy rainfall. Therefore, it is stated that precautions should be taken.
