Climate change has become a serious threat worldwide. Recent research indicates that half of the global population has been exposed to an additional 30 days of extreme heat due to human-induced climate change.

Research by World Weather Attribution (WWA) and other organizations shows that the use of fossil fuels makes heat waves more likely. This situation is still not taken seriously enough in many countries.

Approximately 4 billion people experienced temperatures exceeding historical values by more than 90% in their regions between May 1, 2024, and May 1, 2025. This situation makes the effects of climate change even more apparent.

Climate change has at least doubled the number of extreme hot days in 195 countries and regions. Experts emphasize the need to make our energy systems more efficient to stop this situation.

Children are one of the most affected groups by climate change. 83% of children born in 2020 will be exposed to dangerous levels of heat waves throughout their lives. This situation will worsen if urgent measures are not taken.

However, there is hope! If we act urgently, we can achieve the 1.5°C target. Placing children at the center of climate policies is crucial for reaching this goal.
