A tsunami drill was conducted in Istanbul!

At Barbaros Primary School in Tuzla, students quickly evacuated the school during the drill, responding to the sound of sirens. Istanbul AFAD Provincial Director Prof. Dr. Haluk Özener noted that students evacuated the school in 57 seconds.

When the tsunami announcement was made, students and teachers moved to the designated safe area. Özener emphasized that even if a tsunami occurs in the Marmara, wave heights would not reach this far.

During the drill, information was provided on what to do during a tsunami. Özener explained the importance of moving away from the sea and heading to higher ground.

AFAD continues its awareness efforts against tsunami risks in Istanbul. Training sessions held in Silivri provided information about precautions and safe areas against tsunamis.
