We are reporting the latest developments regarding forest fires in Izmir. The fires have affected the Menderes and Kınık districts.

The fire in Menderes Çile Neighborhood spread from agricultural land to forested areas. A response team of 8 planes, 9 helicopters, and numerous fire trucks has been dispatched to the area.

The General Directorate of Forests announced that they have reduced the fire's energy and continue to fight to bring it under control. Teams are actively responding from both air and ground.

An investigation has been launched regarding the cause of the fires. It has been determined that the fire originated from a hobby garden, where sparks ignited dry grass.

The fires in Izmir have also affected neighboring provinces. Fires have broken out in Çanakkale and Malatya, and teams are responding there as well.
