Details of the trade agreement between the European Union and the US were announced last month. However, wine and spirits were not included in the agreement.

EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic acknowledged this as a significant omission and stated that this sector could be brought back to the table in the future.

The US Distilled Spirits Council reacted to the exclusion of wine and spirits from the agreement. This situation may negatively impact American producers' export and employment plans.

Sefcovic emphasized that the trade negotiations with the US are continuing in good faith and that barriers to mutual trade need to be removed.

It is crucial for both sides to adopt a constructive approach to strengthen trade relations. There are calls for the wine and spirits sector to be included in the discussions.
