A flood and landslide disaster in Kars' Kağızman district has affected 11 villages. The neighborhoods of Şahindere and Aşağıdere, along with Aydınkavak, Günindi, Akçay, Yağlıca, Aşağıdut, Karabağ, Duranlar, Keşişkıran, and Karacaören have suffered significant damage.

AFAD, UMKE, gendarmerie, and health teams have been dispatched to the flood area. Teams are working to open closed roads and rescue stranded vehicles.

Initial assessments indicate that 3 houses in Aşağıdut, 1 house in Karacaören, and 3 houses in Akçay have been damaged. Energy lines have also been cut off.

The Kars Governorship announced that teams are continuing their work to support the affected villages due to the flood and landslide. Necessary precautions are being taken for the safety of citizens.

It is emphasized that local authorities and AFAD must always be prepared for such disasters. More preventive measures against natural disasters are being called for.
