Bilecik and Izmir Declared Disaster Areas!

Bilecik and Izmir have been declared General Life Effective Disaster Areas!

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the measures taken after the fires. A total of 56 containers were set up in Izmir and 26 in Bilecik. A total of 128 million TL has been allocated for damages caused by the fires.

Citizens from 120 neighborhoods were evacuated to safe areas. Returns to the controlled areas have been facilitated. However, 1,157 buildings were reported damaged across 9 provinces due to the fires.

Minister Yerlikaya stated that 1,191 personnel and 198 vehicles were deployed to support firefighting efforts. He emphasized the importance of citizens being cautious to prevent future fires.

After the fires, 49 large livestock, 37 small livestock, and 171 poultry were reported dead. This represents a significant loss for agriculture and livestock.

Experts warn of the risks of erosion and landslides following forest fires. Therefore, it is advised that burned areas should not be opened for construction.
