Recent Developments on Pension Salaries and Workers' Rights

Important developments are taking place regarding pension salaries and workers' rights. Millions of workers in Turkey are facing a continuous decline in their salaries due to high tax rates.
According to Ali Can Polat's report, unionized workers have begun collective bargaining at their workplaces. The strike by the Petrol-İş Union is in its 72nd day, and the employer's offer has risen to 80%. Workers will decide whether to accept this offer at the ballot box.

Economist Özgür Erdursun explains the salary declines caused by tax brackets. A person earning 50,000 TL at the beginning of the year sees their salary drop to 42,900 TL by July.
The Supreme Court has confirmed that workers can make a justified termination if their annual leave pay is not paid in advance. Employers are required to comply with this rule.

The salary increase for retirees and civil servants will be finalized in July. However, the current unfair tax system threatens the living standards of workers.
